Gas Supply Contract

PROPOSED RECOMMENDATION

To enter into a new contract for the supply of gas for North Yorkshire Council. 

BACKGROUND TO SUPPORT THE RECOMMENDATION

The Authority’s current gas supply contract expires on the 31^st March 2025. It is essential, for the continuity across both the corporate property estate and traded customers, that a new supply contract is in place for 1^st April 2025 that will take into account the requirements of the new authority as a whole. The replacement supply contract will encompass all of the meter points from the previously separate councils which will be brought into the new contract as their existing contracts end.

LEGAL AND GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE

A Gateway report will be considered in accordance with the Council’s Procurement and Contract Procedure Rules.

This is a key decision.  The gas supply contract was entered on the forward plan on the 18^th November 2022.

RECOMMENDATION

That a new contract is entered into for the supply of gas for North Yorkshire Council from the 1^st April 2025.
